The American Safety & Health Institute Basic Life Support Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation course based on the assessment and management of the cardiac arrest victim for the healthcare provider.
This course is intended for individuals that work in the healthcare setting and provide care to patients of both in-hospital and out-of-hospital environments. This may include, but is not limited to EMT students, nursing students, medical assistants, patient transporters, dental assistants, nurses (LVN, RN), occupational therapists, firefighters, EMTs/Paramedics, physicians, physician’s assistants, doctors/surgeons.
This 4-5 hour, classroom/video based course reflecting the new science from the 2015 American Heart Association Guideline for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care teaches the ASHI Chain of Survival, critical concepts of high-quality CPR and techniques, 1 and 2 rescuer CPR and AED use for the adult, child and infant as well as bag valve mask techniques, rescue breathing and relief of choking. This course is hands on and participants will practice all skills taught. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a Basic Life Support (BLS) Course Completion Card from the ASHI that is valid for two years.
